Larry BakerComments from the author about writing: For me, writing is simply another form of story-telling. And I have been telling stories for a long long time. My first published short story was while I was in high school, and my first novel was published when I was fifty. A lot of time practicing.

Literary awards received and date received:

  • Barnes and Noble "Great New Voices" Top Three Finalist, 1997.
  • FLAMINGO RISING was the Iowa Center for the Book choice to represent Iowa at the 2010 National Book Festival in Washington, DC.
  • A GOOD MAN was a nominee for "Book of the Year" by the Southeastern Independent Booksellers Association in 2010.
  • Inducted into the Iowa City Literary Walk of Fame in 2010.
