Janice AbelComments from the author about writing: I bring to my writing my deep roots as an Iowan, and an imagination that blossoms from the star filled nights one can view from Iowa’s landscapes. I thoroughly love writing fantasy fiction and have many e-books short stories on Amazon. My fiction writing began after retiring from University of Northern Iowa as Director of Academic Advising Services. Up to that time reports, position papers and juried articles were my writing mode. Retiring my sister and I wrote, To You From the Wishmore, a story of growing up in La Porte City, Iowa. Next came a collection of interviews from retired women, entitled, Community Shapers, featured as part of exhibit at UNI museum. In 2006, The Little White Christmas Horse was written and featured as a serial story in the Cedar Falls Times, and since that time has appeared in community newspapers in many states in USA and Canada. Forthcoming is a collection of short fantasy fiction stories and a historical fiction, entitled, Brass Notes Over Wolf Creek( my salute to childhood and town life in Iowa). I grew up in La Porte City, and live in Cedar Falls.
