Comments from the author about writing:  Our historical novel, Voices In Our Souls" stands solidly on a foundation of exhaustive research. Since neither one of us had any experience writing fiction, we were babes in the woods in the beginning, relying upon a "trial and error" approach. We wrote and edited many, many drafts, attended a workshop on writing historical fiction in at the University of Iowa, read many books and articles about writing fiction and received valuable criticism and advice from a dear friend who is an accomplished author.
