Bonnie WarringtonComments from the author about writing: I spent most of my years studying art and doing oil paintings.  When we moved to Iowa in 2004, I was invited to join a writers group.  I found that I enjoyed writing, and put aside my art studies temporarily.

My memoir goes back to 1940 when my father was called to active duty during World War II.  Since he remained in the States during that time, Mother and I went with him to army posts---mostly on the West Coast.  There are some nostalgic descriptions during those years.  My husband served in the Navy, so I wrote about our time on the East Coast—Washington, D.C. and Annapolis—in the early ‘50s.

Following my husband during his years on an Iowa farm, and later as a computer programmer with General Electric in Phoenix gave me many stories.  I included events in my son’s life too—such as open heart surgery at the age of 7.

My husband’s employer sent him on field assignments to South Africa (9 months) and Belgium (5 months) in the ‘70s.  We did other tours on our own.
