Add Literary Event

Events are displayed on the ICB Web site in the order in which they are added to the site, not by the date that they will occur. One question on the form is asking for the "Effective Date". This is asking what date you want information about your event to appear on the Web site. We recommend that the "Effective Date" be approximately two weeks before the event. That way information about your event will display on the front page of the ICB Web site with maximum exposure close to the event and when it moves to the "Literary Events" display it will be close to the top of the list when the event occurs.

A second question asks for the "Event Ends" date. If your event takes place on a single day that is the date you would fill in. If the event will continue over a series of days or a longer period of time, provide the last date of the event.

Neither of these dates will display on the Web site. They are for our use in managing this part of the Web site.

The information you enter about your literary event will be reviewed before it appears on the Web site. Every effort is made to check for new events Monday through Friday.

If you have questions about adding a literary event, send an email to the Coordinator of the Iowa Center for the Book. To correct information about an event already added to the Web site, send the Coordinator an email with the changes that need to be made.

Describe your event in one paragraph. Please include the name of your institution and the date of the event. If the event is taking place over multiple dates, include the date it begins and the date it ends as part of the description.
