Dear Phyllis Reynolds Naylor,
“ When faced with starvation do not panic. Wrap the insect in a pleasing eatable object and imagine yourself having dinner at Buckingham Palace.” After reading this phrase from you’r book, Roxie and the Hooligans, I thought “Who would be hungry enough to eat a grub?” But then I remembered the time I hiked up a glacier in Alaska and I was really hungry after just doing that. I can not imagine being on an island for a week without eating.
You’r book made me tougher. I stand up for people now. It also made me be more careful of what I say or do.
This book changed the way I think about the choices I make. After finished reading this book I was a lot more greatful for what I have. I’m so glad I haven’t had to eat a bug or be stranded on a island.
I am really really happy I read you’r book. Thank you so much for writing Roxie and the Hooligans!
