Dear Gale Sayers,
Your book, I am Third, changed me because it taught me that no matter how famous you get, religion, family, and friends should come first.
Many people, mostly celebrities, think like this: me me me me me then fans then family, the religion, then friends. You showed that even as a successful football player you thought of God and family first.
You showed that you kept your values strong when your best friend died and your career ended from a severe knee injury, despite those problems you still stayed strong and faithful no matter what.
You also showed strong faith when you prayed to make the team and deal with prejudice and it paid off you became one of the most successful football players of all time.
So if I become famous or I do not become famous I will think like you, so I can lead a better life because if I'm think of number one and number two-God and family-I won't be focused on being selfish and thinking "me, me, me", because I hate being called selfish, it makes you feel terrible, so if I don't act selfish I won't get called selfish so it works out works out for everyone.
So whether I'm famous or not I will always BE THIRD!!
Sincerely
Alec Kuehn
