Dear John Grogan,
I have read almost all your books. But the one that I thought taught me the most was MarIey and Me (Adult version). It also was the best book I've read so far in my young life. Even though all your other books were really immense. I could really feel your empathy for Marley. When I was reading, it felt like the entire story just jumped into me. I know that almost anybody that had a pet went through all this, but you really had a special tale to tell. You wrote it so everyone can relate to it and maybe feel a little bit better that they didn't have to go though all of what you did. You wrote it just so the millions of people could feel great. I know how it goes, but you kind of cleaned up that tear in my eye. That's why I'm writing this letter. I think you could almost win the Peace Award.
Even though I knew what happened in the book, I still had to cry about how sad I was. This book has taught me to live life before it's gone. So I made a list of what to do. Today in dodge ball, I did not go up front because I'm not that good at it. Also because of this book, I knew what I can do. It also taught me to be really helpful. I mean really-really helpful. For example, I always help my mom on the computer. Like you help Jenny by keeping Marley under control.
From then on I just can't stop thinking about it. I started taking care of my pets better than I used to (not that I don't care for my cat). Like I started feeding her more than my mom. I also did that by influencing my mom to buy toys for my cat. It did not work out that way like usual. I did research on all different kinds of animals. I did school projects about dogs, cats, and basically any kind of animal. I read a lot of books about animals. How you wrote this book was astounding. It was the most life-changing book I have read! I hope you loved writing it as much as I enjoyed reading it!
Your very special reader,
Andrew Spaulding
