Your book, Maggie's Door, made my mind boggle. I never knew you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself. Your book taught me a lesson about determination and perseverance. Everyday since I read your book I wake up and decide what goal I am going to accomplish today.

While I was reading your book I thought long and hard about how perseverance really counts when your family is relying on you. I know one time there was a tornado and my mom took me down to the basement and my dad was carrying my sister down when he fell and got hurt. My mom and I did not know he was hurt so we were waiting for them and they never came so my mom sent me to go find them. I was terrified of our basement and I was afraid my dad had really hurt himself so I did not want to go by myself, but I knew my family was relying on me. I kept saying I could and I finally made it. I felt so good about myself afterwards.

My experience with perseverance is not as petrifying as Nory's, but it still taught me the same lesson as your book.

For me accomplishing a goal is like what Nory did, making a huge difference in my life. Before I read your book I just thought that it was not that special to accomplish a goal, but now I know better. I say that because your book made me think about how proud I really am after I accomplish a goal of mine.

I am determined to accomplish as many goals as I can throughout the rest of my life. Once I accomplish a goal I am going to think about your book and I am going to really feel proud about myself.
