Welcome to the Iowa Center for the Book
The Iowa Center for the Book is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in Iowa by the State Librarian.
Simon & Schuster, publisher of this year’s All Iowa Reads 2013 winner “The Year We Left Home” by Jean Thompson, made an exception to their current national eBook sales policy for libraries.
The Iowa Center for the Book announces that Jean Thompson's "The Year We Left Home" will be the title All Iowans Read next year.
The Iowa Center for the Book has applied for nonprofit status for its new foundation. "The ICB foundation will work to promote the Center's purpose which is to stimulate public interest in books, reading, literacy and libraries," said Dale Ross, President of the new organization. "Enriching current programs such as All Iowa Reads and Letters About Literature and funding new projects such as a traveling history of the book exhibit will be our focus as the Foundation begins its work to raise funds."
