Literary Event Chattin' with Cathy @ Ames Public Library
Wednesday, January 14, 2:45pm, Farwell T. Brown Auditorium, Ames Public Library. First, second, and third graders, come chat about books, enjoy snacks, and participate in fun activities. This month, we’ll learn how to find fun stuff at the library.
Literary Event Teen Book Discussion: Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld
Pizza and Pages! Enjoy a lively discussion of Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld, which deals with our modern-day obsession with physical beauty. Books are available to borrow at the information desk of the library. Pizza and beverages provided. Literary Event Children's Book Discussion: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl
Join us for a discussion of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Books to borrow will be available at the library information desk. Snacks provided! Enter a drawing to win two tickets to the Des Moines Playhouse production of Willy Wonka, which is based on this famous book! Literary Event Twirl into a Tale
Clive Public Library - Come to the Library for a story of “The Unicorn and the Moon” by Tomie dePaola interpreted through dance. Literary Event Bookin' with Judy - Grand Old Story
Clive Public Library - Judy invites 6-10 year old children twice a month on Tuesdays to share in book discussions, reading and crafts. Literary Event Baby Lap Time - Winter II Session
Clive Public Library - Enjoy this 15-minute program for children 0-18 months of age (not yet walking) with an adult. This is bonding time for the adult and child and models beginning literacy skills with the use of stories, nursery rhymes, music and songs. Program highlights include read-a-louds, puppets, flannel board stories, songs and much, much more. Adults are invited to enjoy free coffee or tea while their children are in the program. Literary Event Teen Poetry Night
Clive Public Library - Come to the Clive Public Library on the third Wednesday of each month for a fun evening devoted to reading, listening to and writing poetry! Bring an original poem or a favorite poem (song lyrics included) to read aloud. Refreshments provided. Ages 14-18. Limit 15. Literary Event Tales with Tails
Clive Public Library - Our tails will be wagging on certain Saturdays at the Library. Join the Clive Public Library and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa volunteers, both human and canine, for a Tales with Tails program. Your child will spend fifteen minutes reading his/her book to a dog while becoming a more confident reader. Recommended ages of readers are 7-12 years. Registration starts August 25. Literary Event Family Story Time at the Clive Public Library
