Comments from the author about writing: I write to understand the world.

I am the author of Yellow Cab, (University of New Mexico Press, 2006). A theatrical version of the book played to twelve sold-out performances at the Adobe Theater in Albuquerque in 2008. A new adaptation of the book with additional material called Dead Man’s Curve was performed at Central College and at the Des Moines Social Club in 2012. Dead Man’s Curve was adapted, produced and directed by Ann Wilkinson.  I am also finishing a book of short stories and poetry about life in Iowa, and a play set in Iowa called The Smell of Money. I am also a regular contributor to the food magazine Edible Iowa River Valley, and have chapters in Letters to a Young Iowan, and Iowa, a Definitive History, both edited by Zachary Michael Jack, Ice Cube Press, North Liberty, Iowa.
