Comments from the author about writing: I have always loved writing and have memories of showing my first grade teacher stories that I'd written. I loved to read and I think that inspired me to write stories of my own. I also knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. After graduating from Iowa State University in 2006, I began teaching. I would see my students so entertained by books and particular authors, and I always thought it would be so much fun to have a book with my name on the cover and my story inside. My students were writing in school every day, and it made me start to think about stories I'd like to tell. The idea for Bonny Bunny and the Golden Rule came to me after I read a newspaper article on bullying in schools. I hope that my readers are left with a sense of how important it is to be kind to one another.
