Comments from the author about writing: I graduated from Westmar College with a BA in elementary education and a special education emphasis and hold a Master's in Science in Effective Teaching through Drake. I taught elementary education for 25 years and then launched a writing and speaking career. Much of my writing is based upon my experience as the daughter of a disabled father and the mother of a child with special needs. My books are also extensively researched to provide caregivers with a wide array of resources to support them so they can be effective advocates for their loved ones.
