Fischer, Katherine
Comments from the author about writing:
My newspaper columns, essays, and books are deeply imbued with
Midwestern culture and landscape--most notably that of Iowa, Wisconsin,
and Illinois. Raised on the shores of Lake Michigan, I now live on the floodplains of the Mississippi. I find in rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, and oceans metaphor for the joys, comedy, hardships, relationships, and love in our daily lives. Too, I find a feisty can-do nature in our regional personality due, perhaps, to making it through yet another winter.
