Comments from the author about writing: Two of my great loves are Iowa and children! I felt there were not enough books available to our young readers that introduce them to Iowa facts. My books provide information about Iowa in a fun and creative way to children.

One of my goals is to instill a sense of pride and love of our home state to our students. It has been incredibly rewarding to see my books come to life. It has been a wonderful experience to visit schools and groups to share my books.

As I promote the state of Iowa I find it equally important to promote reading and writing! I stress that there is an author within all of us! During my visits I share different pieces of the publishing process - from the original artwork - to proofs - to the finished product.

Are you willing to do programs for schools, libraries, or other groups? Yes

If you are willing to do programs, will you charge a fee? Yes - varies - I encourage the schools to participate in the book fundraiser. I give a portion of each book sale back to the school. This is a great way to offset the cost or pay for future author visits.
