Crawford, Joyce
Comments from the author about writing: I write for elementary/middle school age children. My characters deal with real life situations and they learn lessons along the way. I love to develop characters who experience a difficult situation. I enjoy finding a way for my characters to handle their situation and learn how to deal with life in the process. I have the most energy for writing in the morning and I write on most days. Since this is really my hobby and not my job, I don't put too much stress on myself. I especially enjoy talking to children about the writing process and getting them excited to write.

Are you willing to do programs for schools, libraries, or other groups? Yes
If you are willing to do programs, will you charge a fee? I offer two programs: CHANGE THE OIL, ROTATE THE TIRES for students in grades 2 - 8. I discuss the writing process and the importance of editing. FILL THE PIGGY BANK is for parents. I explain the single most important thing parents can do is to read aloud to their children. I offer ideas on books to select, when to read to their children, and how to make reading a special family activity. I charge mileage for all events and other expenses if applicable such as hotel, food, air fare, etc. Fees for the presentation are negotiable.
