Comments from the author about writing:  Have written mostly nonfiction for over thirty-five years as a newspaper columnist, reviewer and essayist. Writing is a constant challenge and pleasure to me.  Also have written melodies for 17 James Hearst poems, now out on a CD, "Landscape Iowa." Can do either program: Brother's Blood as a nonfiction crime book or perform songs from "Landscape Iowa" and discuss James Hearst as a farmer, teacher, and poet.
