Comments from the author about writing:  I began my MFA program as a poet, but switched to receiving my degree in Fiction. I write in every genre, just recently completing three screenplays.

I've published my memoir This Dark World in 2002 and adapted the book into a screenplay in 2009-2010. The movie is called Higher Ground and premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2011.
