Barry, Debra R.
Comments from the author about writing: Words have always come easy for me and I have always been interested in books, writing, and reading. I began writing about ten years ago. After about fifty-four rejection letters, I decided to take a break. "Take a Break" is code for I had a melt down, gave up trying to get published, and packed my manuscripts away in a desk drawer. I kept writing down my ideas, but I got busy living my life and suddenly I blinked and ten years had passed by. About a year ago, I decided to dust off my manuscripts and start submitting my writing to publishers again! I dusted off all those rejection letters and read those again, too. Being published is a dream come true. I would not be here today if it weren't for many people along the way who helped me one step at a time.....It has been a long journey.
If I can give you one piece of advice it would be: Don't wait too long to chase your dreams. Although, my ten years of waiting helped me grow, and become a better writer, what if I had never pulled my books out again? Thankfully I did. So, whoever you are and whatever your dreams are.... don't pack them away for too long!
