Comments from the author about writing: A graduate of the University of Iowa's Nonfiction Writing Program, my writing has focused on essays and memoir. I also belong to a Travel Writing group, which has met monthly for more than 12 years; that process of sharing work with other capable writers has proven invaluable. I find that I benefit from dedicating a block of time in a quiet space to my writing, so writing vacations are good for me. My first book focuses on a topic that I feel is often misunderstood, the practice of yoga, and hopefully corrects some of those misunderstandings. It also presents a very personal story, and that combination of the personal and the philosophical is something I've worked hard to present successfully on the page.
