Woodhouse, Kay
Comments from the author about writing:
I have been writing for a number of years. I have completed two novels for young adults and many children's picture book stories. I have also been writing short stories for magazines. "Horses and Moore" is a story about a twelve year old Iowa girl who goes to a horse camp in Kentucky. I write fictional stories which are based on personal experiences. I taught school for thirty years and after taking a Writer's Workshop class offered by the University of Iowa, I incorporated my experiences in life into my writings with my students in my classes. I have been retired for twelve years, but still go back into the classrooms to talk with students about writing and encourage them to write. I recently worked with a fourth grade class in Delhi, Iowa, where we live, helping them to write, illustrate and bind their own books.
