Herwaldt, Loreen
Comments from the author about writing:
I created "Patient Listening: A Doctor's Guide" from stories authors told me about getting healthcare. I used a creative writing exercise to shape the prose text of interview transcripts to create found poems. I created first person introductions to the poems and gathered these introductions and found poems into a whole piece that can either be read by an individual person or done as readers theater. We have used it to educate healthcare workers, who have responded very positively to the piece. Lay people have responded positively, as well.
