Most of my childhood was spent on a farm near Winterset, Iowa. As an only child, it was up to me to entertain myself. I did so by playing with my pets, reading, and using my imagination. And I used my imagination a lot! It may have been lonely at times, but this environment allowed my to develop one of the most important tools I use as a writer--my imagination.
