I researched and wrote the history of Iowa girls basketball because Iowa was the only state to have statewide basketball programs and championship since 1920. My professional colleagues in other universities in other states encouraged me to write the history because it was so unique. I enjoyed interviewing the long ago players. One of them had first played in 1901. Anyone who has played Iowa girls basketball, been a family member of a player or just a fan will enjoy reminiscing as they read this book.
