The Drake Jazz Combo I will visit the library as a part of the “America's Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway” discussion series. The group, which is made up of some of Drake University's leading jazz performers, will perform swing music and provide some background on the genre. This small ensemble brings both intimacy and expressive depth to standards and new tunes alike, providing a great opportunity to hear the genius of jazz in an accessible and engaging format.
