Former City of Clive Mayor and current Polk County Supervisor, Robert Brownell will be at the Clive Public Library on February 12 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss his book Our Fathers Day – A Baseball Card From The Plains. Bob weaves Mike McGonegle’s boyhood memories into a story that’s about far more than kid baseball in a small town. It’s about dads, coaches, friendships, respect and fate -- and gently learning how to grow up.
Brownell was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa cum laude in English and Education and has attended Drake University for post graduate work.
Beaverdale Books will sell copies of his work at this event. Refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Clive Public Library. No registration required.
