Join Dragonfly Books for an evening with Lansing, Iowa native Jerry Wilde, author of the memoir Washed in Blood, on Friday, August 9 at 7:00 pm at Dragonfly Books.
Wilde, the youngest of five children, grew up playing high-school baseball for Coach Gene Schultz where he learned to "do things, everything, the right way." While Wilde was a student at Luther (graduating in 1984) he could not have predicted the twists and turns his life would take due to a genetic kidney disease. In equal measures heartbreaking, inspiring, and humorous, Washed in the Blood recounts Wilde's experiences, and consequently, the impact on his health, family, and the business of living.
Jerry Wilde is a professor of educational psychology for Indiana University East. Prior to this academic appointment, he worked as a psychologist where he counseled children who had emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties.
