Katie Ganshert graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in education and worked as a fifth grade teacher for several years before staying home to write full-time. She was born and raised in Bettendorf, where she lives with her husband and their young son. She is the nationally-published author of Wildflowers from Winter, which was released in May 2012, and Wishing on Willows, which was released on March 19, 2013. For READ LOCAL Ganshert is going to talk about her journey toward publication and the quirks, challenges, and rewards of an author’s life. Plus some interesting, not-so-well-known information about what being an author and working in the publishing industry really looks like.
