Come hear the author at Hoyt Sherman Place Theater. Last year, Carolyn Jessop packed the house when she stopped by the library to discuss her book, Escape, the harrowing story of a woman who not only broke out of the confines of a fundamentalist religious sect but also wrested her children away from it. Her newest book, Triumph: Life After the Cult, details how Jessop overcame the challenges and tragedies that life has presented her and how she continues to fight for the women and children of the FLDS. The author appears as part of the tenth annual AViD (Authors Visiting in Des Moines) Author Series presented by the Des Moines Public Library.
