The 2016 Letters About Literature program is in full swing- Iowa readers submitted their letters in January and the judging process is underway!
This year, there were 49,283 entries from 50 states and the District of Columbia. Iowa had 1,867 entries submitted by students for the three levels:
- 656 at Level I (grades 4-6)
- 922 at Level II (grades 7 and 8)
- 289 at Level III (grades 9-12)
Iowa’s totals are something we can be proud of—especially from a state with a relatively small population!
All the Iowa entries were read by the national Letters About Literature office at least twice. The finalist entries have now been sent to the Iowa judges for the third and final round of judging.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the winners and honorable mentions in late April!
