Two Programs: 10 Deadly Aspects of Pride
Pride is a complicated concept replete with a myriad of potential challenges and quagmires that make its presence at best, convoluted. Dr. Eric Johnson advances the notion that pride functions as a primary contributor to much of the mental, spiritual and emotional instability present in our society. In his book, 10 Deadly Aspects of Pride, Johnson identifies the ubiquitous presence that pride tends to have in our lives and the challenges that result from it. The extent to which we contain pride has a direct impact upon how we reach the full potential of our imagination and the further fulfillment offered by peace and joy. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Johnson currently serves as the Chief Consultant with Strategies to Succeed and as a faculty member at Virginia International University. Johnson is the former Chief of Research Publications for the United States Air Force Academy. He also served as the Director of the Urban Education Program in the School of Education at Drake University. As a youth, he experienced many of the challenges faced by young black males in large cities; drugs, poverty, gangs, violence, teenage parenthood and educational trials chief among them. As an adult, he has had to endure a variety of the common tribulations confronted by many including divorce, financial hardship and familial sufferings.
