Novel Conversations -The group meets at 7 pm on the third Thursday of each month and alternates between classic novels and recent works of fiction and nonfiction.
It's a Mystery Book Group Feb 10, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM — Coralville Public Library, Meeting Room B,
It’s a Mystery is a mystery book discussion group that has met at the Coralville Public Library for over twenty years. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am in meeting room B. Everyone is welcome to join in any time. Refreshments are available at discussions.
Stage on the Page: Drama Discussion Group Feb 25, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM — Coralville Public Library, Library Board Room,
Stage on the Page reads and discusses scripts from plays new and old. We meet the last Thursday of the month September through June. Taking a break in December and over the summer months. Gather in the Library Board Room at 10:00 am to join the discussion. All are welcome!

The Bondurant Comm. Library Book Discussion group will be discussing the book "Room" by Emma Donoghue. This book has been made into a movie, and is currently showing at theaters. The mother,(Joy)in the movie has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award. "Room" is the story of Joy,held captive for years in an enclosed space,with her 5-year-old son they finally gain their freedom, allowing the boy to experience the outside world for the first time.

We meet at noon at the Clarion Public Library Meeting room, share a light fare of crackers and cheese and discuss our feelings about the book. If someone has not read it, it is fun to retell the story.

Philip will share stories from his book on Tuesday, February 16th at 7:00 pm. The author of more than a dozen books on the ancient world, Philip Freeman is well known for his vivid stories, retellings, and insights on the ancient and medieval world. In Searching for Sappho (W.W. Norton 2016), Freeman explores the fascinating poetry, life, and world of Sappho. Dragonfly Books will host local, outdoor writer Jerry Johnson with his new book Coot Stews. Known for his “Old Coots” essay collections, Jerry continues to write about bird dogs, bird hunting, and tales of life in the North Country. Jerry will share stories from his collection and sign books on Friday, February 26th at 7:00 pm at Dragonfly Books. At turns humorous, serious, caustic, and heartwarming, Coot Stews beautifully demonstrates Jerry’s love for the North Country, hunting companions, and the values and ethics that have shaped his outlook on life. A former newspaper reporter, editor and columnist, Jerry Johnson is now retired after 25 years as director of public relations at Luther College.
