Twelve years ago, Spike Carlsen and his wife bought a chunk of land along Lake Superior. Ten years ago they and their kids began building a cabin on it. Nine years ago, Spike started writing a book about the experience. The result is the entertaining and heartfelt Cabin Lessons. Part memoir and part construction manual Cabin Lessons is complete with photos, sketches, lists, and thoughts on life.
In addition to Cabin Lessons (Storey 2015) Spike Carlsen is the author of the award-winning A Splintered History of Wood, Woodworking FAQ, and The Backyard Homestead Book of Building Projects.
If you find that you can't make it to the event but would still like to purchase one of Spike’s books, just give Dragonfly Books a call at 563-382-4275. One of their staff will be glad to reserve a book and have it autographed for you.
