All Clear Lake area readers are invited to discuss the "All Iowa Reads" 2009 selection "The Rope Walk" by Carrie Brown at the Clear Lake Public Library on Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m. This unique novel features a heroine who is learning the ways of the world, a Shakespearean scholar, Lewis & Clark, and a power failure that shines a surprising light on a dark situation. Author Brown has received much praise for this novel with critics comparing her to Anne Tyler, Eudora Welty and Harper Lee. The library has loan copies of this title available.
