Council Bluffs PL Announces "Bluffs Author Series 2007-08"
Two popular authors, including David Pelzer, photo right, and the animation director of "The Simpsons" highlight the Council Bluffs Public Library's "Bluffs Author Series 2007-08."
A kick-off banquet with author David Pelzer (A Child Called It) will be held Friday, September 21 at the Council Bluffs Mid-America Center. The cost is $40 a person. Call the library for information and reservations (712) 323-7553 ext. 120. Because of the subject matter of the presentation, the library is limiting the audience to high school students and adults. A book signing will follow his presentation.
The animation director of The Simpsons, David Silverman, will be the second guest in the series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 18 at the Mid-America Center. The event is for Simpson fans young and old. Silverman will sign autographs after the presentation.
A Local Author Fair is the third event in the series. It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 17 at the Council Bluffs Public Library.
Author Jodi Picoult (Nineteen Minutes) will round out the series with a presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the library.
Except for the banquet, all events for the Author Series are free and open to the public.
